Invites: Sent!

Well, we're under the three-month mark now, and our invites have been sent! Due to our budget limitations and our own personal wishes, we have kept the guest list to only our family and a few select friends. By doing this, we hope to keep our day intimate and focused on what's most important to us.

Looking forward to seeing the RSVP cards coming back soon!

Saying Yes to the Dress

Well, I've done it! I found a dress! Apparently all it took was one more visit to each, which is great because I don't think I could have put up with the search much longer...  :)

I ended up purchasing the dress I found at Vera's House of Bridals. This ended up being a surprise actually since I'd not expected to find anything at Vera's, but after all the dresses - I did!

So, I'm officially a "Maggie Bride" which is the name given to girls who will be married in Maggie Sottero gowns. I came to the realization tonight that I'm actually an "Erin's Maggie" Bride though, because I'm making a few alterations to the basic design of the dress that I ordered. This will mean a lot more to folks who know that my dog growing up was officially named "Erin's Maggie Malone." Quite fitting and perfect that I'm now an "Erin's Maggie Bride," no?

Now, I have to wait about 5 to 6 months for my dress to actually come, and after that I have two fittings. Luckily, Vera's House of Bridals will store my dress for me and even press it prior to my wedding so I don't have to keep it myself. I can go "visit" my dress as often as I'd like, though - a perk I'm sure I'll take advantage of!

Dress Shopping... Part two

Guess what!! I found a dress I love at David's! .... Then I found a dress I love at Vera's. I have another appointment at each place tomorrow evening after work. Hopefully it's more clear to me tomorrow! I know I have time yet, but I feel like the sooner I scratch this off my list the easier things will be. Each tic mark gets us closer to 10.1.11!! :)

Are you ready for some Dress Shopping?!

Tomorrow I am finally going dress shopping! We have a full day with two appointments - one in the morning at David's Bridal and a second in the afternoon at Vera's House of Bridals. I'm lucky enough to have a great group of women going with me to help me through the process including my mom, my aunt, my future step-mother-in-law, and one of my bridesmaids - Krisi. My grandfather is even joining us for the appointment at David's :) In between the two appointments, we'll be meeting Andrew for lunch somewhere in town. I have a whole bunch of dresses I like at both places, and only an hour and a half at each one! Oh My! I'll let you know how it goes after tomorrow...

One Year To Go!

One year from today, Andrew and I will be married! So, that makes today our Negative One Year Anniversary :)
